Paintings & Drawings
This collection features work from many series I've created over the last decade. I'm interested in what the history of art reveals about our relationship to the natural world. The familiar figures and places found here are from a story I've been working on about the adventures of Charles Willson Peale and Frida Kahlo, who set out to collect specimen for Peale's natural history museum.
The series featuring forest wildlife are from my current project which reckons with habitat destruction.
Most of these are on view in the Anne Bryan Gallery at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts in Philadelphia through March 8th.
