This workshop combines the rigor of painting from observation with the creativity of studio exercises. Students will improve their technical skills and experiment with new approaches to painting. Each day includes 6 hours of instruction divided into two sessions. Mornings begin in one of the stunning local landscapes, with demonstrations in conveying light, atmosphere, and perspective. After lunch, we’ll reconvene in the studio to develop these studies further. Short lectures, demonstrations, and exercises in composition, color/design, and drawing help students develop their artistic voice and develop effective habits. Small class size allows for plenty of one-on-one instruction and guidance. Group critiques are optional. Instructor has more than 25 years experience as professional artist, teacher, and is an award-winning illustrator.
We'll paint the nearby Xativa Castle, Cova Negra, and towns of Boicarent and Beniganim.
