My first exhibit with RJD Gallery will be virtual, due to Covid concerns. The gallery is happy to show the work in person by appointment.
Richard Demato, owner of RJD Gallery, specializes in narrative art, magical realism, and urban landscapes.
Included in the exhibit are new scratchboard drawings from my Modern Folk Tale series. Scratchboard is a fine white clay covered in black ink. I remove the ink with an Exacto knife, which allows for the delicate lines of traditional engraving. The medium is well suited to creating dramatic lighting, as black ink is removed to reveal the light below.
